Career Progression
After passing the CCNA, many students seek career progression within Cisco networking; the CCNP is the most suitable next step for students and IT professionals alike. Once you earn your certification, you can expect a salary hike as your skill level increases, and companies will rely on you to manage enterprise-level networks. Although the certification is valid for three years, it adds significant weight to your CV.
Modern Networking & Automation
Cisco is currently in a transition phase, integrating Automation and AI into devices for easier management. However, CLI skills are still essential for a deep understanding of troubleshooting. The new CCNP exam now covers Python and Ansible, with these topics making up approximately 15% of the exam content.
β’ Enterprise: This is the most popular track. It focuses on core topics like routing and switching, but also covers newer technologies like wireless and SD-WAN.
β’ Security: This track is all about protecting the network. It covers how to configure firewalls, set up VPNs, and ensure secure network access for all users.
β’ Data Center: This one focuses on modern data center technologies. You will learn about Cisco ACI and UCS for managing large-scale data environments.
β’ DevNet Professional: This is for those who want to focus on the software side. It targets network automation, using APIs, and general programmability.
If you are not yet familiar with the CCNA, we recommend starting with our CCNA labs first. Once those are completed, you can move on to the CCNP material.
We suggest starting with the basic labs and progressing to the more difficult ones as your understanding grows.
